These chic lace ghosts are an easy and elegant Halloween craft perfect for farmhouse, boho, or vintage-eclectic home decor.
Scale
Ingredients
Per Ghost
- ½ yard white lace fabric
- 2” styrofoam ball
- Heavy duty white thread
- Sharp scissors
- Needle
- 2 black push pins
Instructions
- Trim a few inches (horizontally) off of the long side of the ½ yard of lace fabric.
- Center the ball under the fabric, directly in the middle.
- Cut a length of thread and tie it around the fabric, just below the ball, to make a neck.
- Thread a needle with a long length of thread (long enough to hang the ghost) and stitch it through a bit of lace on the very top of the ghost’s head. Secure the hanging thread with a knot close to the ghost so it doesn’t slip out later.
- Push the two black pushpins into the ball for eyes.
- Hang ghosts by tying the hanging thread in a knot at the top and hanging it somewhere. I secured mine to the wall with clear thumbtacks.
Notes
Try swapping out a 22″ or larger crochet doily for the lace or scale ghosts up or down by using larger or smaller styrofoam balls and pieces of fabric. Buttons could also be used for the eyes and poly-fil material can be balled up for the head.
