Elsa is now 9 months old and a pure delight. She smiles that kind of smile where joy just tumbles out as if it had been overstuffed inside of her and she giggles so happily when you kiss her belly.
DEVELOPMENT
Elsa’s current form of travel is rolling from one side of the room to the other and often I find her lodged under a chair as a result. She knows there is a better way though. We have been practicing getting on hands and knees and she can hold that position while rocking back and forth as if she is winding up to launch herself forward. Once I left the room for a minute and when I returned she had managed to get on all fours all by herself. Of course it was a fleeting sight like catching a glimpse of Sasquatch.
In other news, my sweet little Elsa has two teeth now! The lower front two teeth shot up at the exact same time a few weeks back but it’s anyone’s guess as to when her next chompers will make an appearance.
FOOD
Elsa has been eating right off of my plate this month, exploring all the foods, and loving every minute of it. Her favorites this month have been shaved deli turkey, soup, pot roast, oatmeal, and pancakes. Her appetite and willingness to try new things far surpasses her stubborn big brother and I’m certain she will be eating his cast offs for years to come.
SIZE
Elsa now weighs 20 whole pounds and she is wearing size 12-18 months in clothes. She is very apparently too big for her HALO bassinet now, so it’s time for me to bite the bullet and get her a spacious crib.
LOVING THIS MONTH
CLOUD ISLAND SILICONE BIBS :: These durable silicone bibs from Target have the sweetest floral and heart patterns and feature the how-did-we-live-without-it food catching pocket. The best part is you can just toss them in the dishwasher when baby is finished with her meal. Because there isn’t any fabric on them, they can be completely dried immediately after washing and ready for the next meal.
MY EASY CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP :: This is my most popular recipe here on Bit & Bauble and I can see why. This is the best Chicken Noodle Soup I’ve ever had and it only involves a few straight forward steps. I froze the leftovers in silicone muffin molds to have kid-sized portions ready to thaw for Elsa and Thomas.
