Is there anything more adorable than a little kid’s Easter basket? I love seeing the creative combinations of toys and candies that make up each basket. Growing up, I remember lots of brightly colored jelly beans, marshmallow Peeps, and those little egg-shaped gum balls in tiny egg cartons (so cute it almost makes up for their lack of gum-like qualities).
This year, for my son’s basket, I’m going with some fun toys and books, and just a few treats because I’m sure he will get plenty of candy from friends and family.
Here’s a rundown of some of my favorite ideas for Easter basket gifts.
CANVAS BUNNY BASKET :: This big canvas bunny tote comes in a variety of colored-ear options and will be perfect to collect all of my son’s monster trucks and tote them from one room to the next.
BOOKS :: THE SUN EGG by Elsa Beskow & MY FIRST BIBLE LAMB EDITION!! (also available at Walmart).
MAD MATTR :: I’ve heard great things about this Swedish-made molding dough that never dries out.
TOY SCHOOL BUS :: This boy can never have to many metal cars and trucks. This time it’s the fanciest looking school bus I ever did see.
KNIT BUNNY :: Okay, so I’m not banking on my son loving this adorable little knit rabbit, but I’m sure his soon-to-be sister will!
STICKERS :: Every day is a special day when you give a kid stickers.
BUBBLES :: Same goes for bubbles!
CRAYONS & COLORING PAD :: Do I really need to justify this?
CHOCOLATE CARROTS :: The Lindt Chocolatiers have out-done themselves with these solid chocolate carrots on a stick. Love!!
REESE’S PIECES CARROT :: Anything with Reese’s on the label has a place in our holiday traditions.
CHEDDAR BUNNY CARROT :: Let’s take a moment to admire this awesome faux-carrot I made with little more than a clear plastic pastry bag, Annie’s Cheddar Bunny crackers, and some green ribbon. You could, of course, fill it with Goldfish crackers or anything small and orange in a pinch.
