These creepy Deviled Eggs that look like bloodshot eyes are the perfect pre-trick-or-treat snack or appetizer for your Halloween dinner party.
Deviled eggs are a delicious and wholesome snack that have earned a spot at our holiday celebrations year-round. “Year-round, Kate? Really?” That’s right, even Christmas gets the eggs, by special request of my husband.
So, for Halloween I’ve put our Deviled Eggs to work as creepy bloodshot eyes courtesy of sliced black olives and sriracha. Their eerie presence would look right at home on a Halloween Smorgasbord of spooky snacks, setting the tone for a unnerving night.
As always, I used my electric egg cooker because it cooks eggs to the perfect hardness and makes them much (much!) easier to peel than when I used to boil them on my stovetop. If you don’t have one, they are super small and only cost about $15, which is totally worth it to me.

Description
These creepy Deviled Eggs that look like bloodshot eyes are the perfect pre-trick-or-treat snack or appetizer for your Halloween dinner party.
Ingredients
- 12 large eggs
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 can (2.25 oz) sliced black olives
- Sriracha hot sauce
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, bring water to a boil. Carefully lower in eggs with a slotted spoon and boil, uncovered, for 8 minutes. Immediately transfer eggs to an ice bath to cool before peeling. Alternatively, use an electric egg cooker, according to package directions.
- Peel and halve the eggs lengthwise. Remove the yolks, then set the whites aside.
- Add yolks to a blender or food processor along with mayo and mustard and pulse until smooth. Scrape yolk mix into a plastic bag then cut the corner tip off.
- Pipe the yolk mix into the egg whites, then place a black olive slice on top.
- Use a toothpick to draw lines of sriracha sauce on the whites of the eggs to create bloodshot eyes.
