OUR FAMILY CHRISTMAS PHOTOS & A BIG ANNOUNCEMENT

Last year, we had our first family photoshoot for the holidays and I was so excited to have nice photos of our family that I decided to make it a tradition.  Of course, holding our shoot in the Target portrait studio last year turned out to be super stressful, with my then 1.5 year old running around pulling props off the shelves and basically refusing to sit still.  So this year, I decided to reach out to a local photography team, Kirkbride Photography, for a more relaxed outdoor photo session.

Of course, a photoshoot with my toddler is always risky but we were lucky to have the luxury of time and space to try to distract him from his tantrums.

To help everything go smoothly, I pinned a bunch of photos to a board on Pinterest and shared it with the photographer a few weeks before the shoot so they knew what look I was going for, what poses we might like to try, and to help settle on a location.

I love the way our photos turned out and even though we held this shoot on December 3, it still left us with juuuust enough time to turn a few of these photos into Christmas cards to send out to friends and family.  Of course, if you are planning a shoot like this for Christmas cards, I recommend holding it in early to mid November to give yourself plenty of time. Don’t be like me. Don’t procrastinate.

Did I forget to mention….WE’RE HAVING A BABY!! I was hoping I would be sporting a cute little bump by now, but instead I’m just sporting an awkwardly shaped midsection.  Yes, it is that perfect stage where you are too big to fit into normal clothes and too small to immediately signify to onlookers that you look/act/move like this for a reason.

We are beyond excited to be welcoming another little one into our family and looking forward to Thomas becoming a big brother.

Best wishes to you and yours this holiday season and a happy, healthy New Year!
