Halloween costumes don’t get much easier, or more practical, than this adorable little get-up styled after the unforgettable Georgie character from Stephen King’s IT. This particular outfit is based on the newly released 2017 film and I suspect most adults and older kids will immediately recognize “who” your kid is for Halloween.
At just over 2 years old, my toddler is too young to request a specific costume, sooo….why not make it easy on myself and get extra use out of the boots and raincoat in this ensemble? Both the boots and the rain jacket are really great quality and I can see these items getting a lot of use.
Can’t forget Georgie’s paper boat. I found a great and adorably entertaining tutorial for making this boat from Merry Makers on Youtube and I was quite happy with the turn out!
Of course, the red balloon floating eerily behind your child is pretty much required. If you’re at a loss for where to find a single red latex balloon and you don’t have your very own helium tank, check the floral department of your local grocery store to see if they can blow one up for you. Just don’t do it too far in advance, as those tricky little latex balloons only float for about 12 hours or less in my experience. If you don’t think your child will be able to hold the balloon, simply use a safety pin to pin the ribbon to the back of “Georgie’s” raincoat.
